There seems to be a typo in the title of this film. The box calls it "The Filth and the Fury," but when you play the movie the screen says "The Filth and the Furry." That's an important distinction, because the men here are far furrier than they are furious! This is a four hourpilation of classic scenes from the HIS Video vault, all featuring hairy studs. Fans of seeing older men with younger men will be in heaven, because most of the couplings feature mature studs (well-built,  hung, hairy chested, often bearded and balding) with sex-hungry young lovers (who in most cases also sport hairy chests and at least a mustache). Because the action was filmed in the good ol' days of the late 70s and early 80s, the action is very, very raw. It's like condoms hadn't been invented yet. There's bareback fucking (with spunk covered dicks being shoved back into freshly fucked asses), and cumshots invariably get aimed into an eager mouth. With all those fuzzy faces, you can imagine how many "milk mustaches" you get to see here. Speaking of cum shots, they don't disappoint. These men are walking sperm factories, and they tend to drench the entire room when they shoot off. Sure, some of the hairstyles look incredibly dated by today's standards, but frankly my attention was more on the colossal cocks these studs were waving around. "The Filth and the Furry" is a terrific sampling of the HIS Video library, and while some of the footage may have gotten a little scratchy over the years, you might say it's all aged to perfection.

The word "classic" is often overused but it really is the best word to use when describing this film. It's a coming-of-age film that actually involves real dialog and genuine acting as the lead character comes to terms with his sexuality. The film opens, oddly enough, with a funeral: the funeral of Gary, the lead character (played by Kevin Redding), who has just perished in an automobile accident. The story is told through flashbacks, with each member of the party having a special story to tell about Gary.
This incredible Tom DeSimone Hollywood-like production is the "ultimate coming-out story." It realistically and sensitively examines emotional, psychological and sexual exploration with honesty and a point of view, a rare accomplishment in adult film.
Well-paced, well-edited, well-crafted and beautifully photographed, this film manages to appeal both to the crotch and the mind, thus establishing itself as a timeless classic that holds up to almost all of the productions made today.
Furthermore, the sex scenes unfold naturally, with conversation leading to arousal, just as in real life. The story develops characterization and highlights Gary (the beautiful and talented actor Kevin Redding), a college track star who seems to have it made except for the fact that he's frustrated by a girlfriend who won't put out and is confused by his blossoming interest in his fellow athletes.
Each segment of this film builds erotic tension, and the film begins with one such moment: Gary is parking with his girlfriend, who won't give him any, and proceeds to beat his college dick to orgasm (in a self-exploration session that's both real and probable, not to mention stimulating to watch) in the front seat of his car before going home.
